Colorado Springs KOA

Colorado Springs KOA in Fountain, Colorado
We visited this park on October 4, 2017, and stayed for 7 day(s).

A sunny day at Colorado Springs KOA

Conveniently location on the south side of Colorado Springs adjacent to Ft Carson along I-25 (exit 132A) the Colorado Springs KOA offers both back in and pull thru sites. Each of the sites has a picnic table, fire pit and wide level gravel RV parking pads with FHU.

The staff is friendly and attentive to their customers and maintenance of the grounds. To get the most out of the amenities the park offers, you need to stay during their “summer” season. We stayed in early October after the Splash Park, Pool, Bubble Park and Wagon Wheel Café had closed for the season.

We stayed for seven nights in a pull thru with FHU/50/Cable. Over the air television reception was good. We needed to refill our coach’s propane tank and the staff made the process a seamless part of our check-in process. After registering we were led to the LP refill station where our rig and portable grill bottle was serviced. Then we led to our site. Shortly afterwards a staff member came up with the receipt for our LP purchase. Very convenient!

Colorado Springs KOA Pros and Cons

Pros: Great base camp to visit the attractions in the Colorado Springs area. Various shopping and dining options are just a short five-minute drive away. Next door there is an RV dealership and just a short distance down the road is a Camping World. This park has plans to expand its footprint by adding more sites, cabins and activities. Family Friendly. Big Rig Friendly. Most every site offers no obstructions for satellite receivers.

Cons: If you are sensitive to noise, Colorado Springs KOA might not be a suitable place to stay. Planes, trains, highway and shooting range are normal noises throughout the daytime. Evenings are a little quieter, but the constant drone of traffic traveling I-25 is always present. No washing of RVs is permitted.
