Kansas City East KOA

Kansas City East KOA in Oak Grove, Missouri
We visited this park on August 8, 2018, and stayed for 5 day(s).

The Kansas City East KOA was a convenient place to stay while we worked the National Model Railroad Association Annual Train Show in Kansas City.

The park itself is on the small side, but with nice, long pull-through sites for big rigs. Roads within the park are sufficiently wide with plenty of room to turn.

After check-in, we were escorted to our site by a friendly staffer on a golf cart. Our site was gravel and had a picnic table and fire ring.

Trash pickup is available every morning if you leave your trash bagged at the front of your rig.

We did not use the park’s WiFi, but our own Verizon and AT&T reception were excellent. And although the park had free cable TV available, we were able to pull in a large selection of channels over the air.

The KOA had the usual amenities, including a pool, playground, pavilion, dog park, laundry room, camp store, etc., but after working long days we didn’t avail ourselves of any of them. The only downside at this park was the road noise from nearby I-70 and adjacent truck stops. This didn’t bother us in the least, as we spent our time there indoors with the AC on.
