Sunset Lakes Resort
Sunset Lakes Resort in Hillsdale, IllinoisWe visited this park on April 27, 2014, and stayed for 4 day(s).
We arrived at this park on opening weekend and had the pleasure of watching spring arrive over four rainy, stormy, cold days. This was a stopover while we awaited the arrival of family to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Sunset Lakes Resort is affiliated with RPI (Resort Parks International), and as members, we paid only $15 per night for a very nice full hookup, pull through site.
This is a large park with plenty of recreational opportunities in the peak season. Most sites are well shaded with a concrete picnic table and fire ring. We parked on a refreshingly level concrete pad. Our TV antennae pulled in plenty of channels and both our Verizon MiFi and US Cellular phones had a strong signal.
There’s a large activity center that also houses an adult room with puzzles, books, movies, and big comfy chairs; a restaurant, game room, laundry room, indoor sand volleyball area, and access to the large outdoor pool.
Outdoor recreational opportunities include paddle boats, canoes, fishing, and a large outdoor playground.
