Tropic Winds RV Resort

Tropic Winds RV Resort in Harlingen, Texas
We visited this park on December 29, 2013, and stayed for 35 day(s).

We chose this park as our winter destination to escape the colder weather to the north. But the cold followed us and during our first two weeks here it was cold, wet, and windy. Once that weather moved out we had gorgeous, sunny days in the mid-70’s.

Tropic Winds RV Resort is a large Encore park with a total of 535 spacious, well-maintained sites. Each site has full hookups, including cable TV and a 10 x 40 concrete patio. This is a gated community with full amenities and over 450 organized activities. Folks here are friendly and active. There’s even a fruit and vegetable truck that shows up once a week with fresh produce.

Grocery shopping options include Walmart or any of three different HEB locations. Each store has a slightly different product mix, but all of them are very light on gluten-free and/or organic items.

We took day trips to the Brownsville Zoo and South Padre Island. Much of the Rio Grande Valley is within driving distance.

Overall, we’d give this park 5 out of 5 stars and we’d be happy to return again in the future.
