Pacific Coast Highway 101 runs from southern California to Washington. It’s a very scenic highway, but one that requires the driver's full attention. The road in many places is narrow, windy and hilly. You can expect to negotiate steep grades and sharp curves along most of its length.
I’ve been waiting to reach a stopover location that afforded me the opportunity to do some much needed service work and preventative maintenance. Today was that day, I was able to service the generator after a period of prolonged hard use.
Regardless of the type of RV you drive or tow there are inherent blind spots that prevent you from seeing objects in your path or other motorist sharing the road.
One of the blind spots that I have had to deal with in our motorhome is the space right next to our front door. Even the rearview convex mirrors on the passenger side don’t provide sufficient coverage of the area. So if a small car or motorcycle is in the lane to our right, right next to the entry door it can’t be seen without my copilot looking to see if anything or anyone is there.
If you ask my wife she’ll confirm that I really really dislike plumbing. Even when we lived in our bricks n sticks house plumbing matters were one of my least favorite chores to deal with. It’s not that I couldn’t do it myself…I had the tools and the basic knowledge, I just hated it. I did it because I didn’t want to pay the prices charged by a plumber or handyman.
The other day we were preparing to depart the park we were staying in. Routine morning…everything was going fine. It was right after the wife took her shower and before I could get mine…she heard a bang followed by the sound of running water coming from the shower. Nothing was visible but it was obvious from the sounds water was pouring somewhere behind the shower surround.
How’s the RV water pressure? Too little? TOO MUCH!?! If you’re not using a water pressure regulator on your fresh water supply line…add one immediately! Many an RVer has learned the hard way about blown water lines inside their rig that were caused by too much water pressure entering the rigs water supply system.
