We were told to expect to see Wild Turkeys and Deer wandering around the place when we checked in. Until this morning only the Wild Turkeys had graced us with their appearance several times a day. Well this morning Shari looked out the window to see a small group of deer. I quickly stopped doing what I was doing (editing images) and grabbed my camera. I spent a good half hour watching and taking pictures of these deer.
Yesterday we walked the streets of Deadwood, South Dakota, the only city in the nation officially designated as a National Historic Landmark. Deadwood is known for colorful past and for its casinos. If you’re interested in Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, or the well-preserved history of a genuine old-west town, this is a place you’ll want to visit.
Our journey recently had us in Loveland, Colorado on business. While there we took in Rocky Mountain National Park. Here are a few wildlife images I took while we visited Colorado and RMNP.
One of the reasons we chose our Class A motorhome was for its kitchen. I follow a Paleo diet plan and that means lots of organic, fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, and nuts. We eat very well and we almost always eat at home. To make this work on the road, I need a reasonable size refrigerator/freezer, an oven that works, plenty of storage space, and enough counter surface to prepare meals from scratch. Ruby has it – and I enjoy cooking in her kitchen!
Last evening while we were out exploring a severe thunderstorm came through the area and as a result it dumped golf ball sized hail on the RV Park where we were staying. This morning while opening the bathroom ceiling vent cover, Shari noticed a hole in the cover. Further inspection from above showed not only one hole, but a section of the edge lip broken off as well. With the possibility of more bad weather, mostly rain this cover needed immediate repair or replacement.
